Speaking of rumors...

I heard that Alyawir and the minister have been involved in an affair for years, and they had a baby, yes you guessed, its Allawi, and now since Allawi grew up and became famous Alyawir had to marry the minister , who was working in a small market back then, to avoid a scandal. Ok i made up the whole story, just kidding:)))
anyways.... i hope the French journalists will be released soon, news about them are good this far. i don't know who to blame for these actions, should we blame the extremists who make these things, or the "other side" whoever that is?
Am i for kidnapping innocent people? No! Am i for kidnapping at the first place? Sure not! But wait, when some crazy guys kidnapped some drivers and workers, they actually made their countries pull out their forces from Iraq, is that a good thing?
War is an extremists' action, kidnapping seems like a reasonable reaction, for some.
Its all a dirty job, i know, and i grieve the Italian journalist, who was also working for the red cross, and i hope that the French journalists go home safe...
The French issue is puzzling me... Why does the French government want a problem with the Muslims in France? We all know it wont work nicely with this new law, that prohibits religious symbols in schools.
In away, this law effects Muslims speciously, since hijab, is not a symbol, its a must, a girl cant go out without wearing it, while wearing a crucifix is not a must, and the same goes for the Jewish small hat that i don't know its name. Franca always took a good stand towards Arab and Muslims, this law is something i cant understand.
Since Brazil is IN these days, i agree with what Carolina says about this... i hope all this mess ends soon...

Khalid can you please tell me whats up with the kissing?everytime hostages are released their kidnappers kiss them goodbye, what the hell are they on about? Here they are scaring the sh** out of these poor souls for weeks, then once they release them they shower them with kisses!!!!Wallah very mind boggling, god the nerve they have...Oh and how nice of them to part away with a give away present the holiest of books, our Quran, when in reality, those murderers should read it and learn that our religeon forbids the heinous acts they are committing...

Intriguing, thanks for filling in the gaps. Hadn't heard about the kissing. There's some kind of syndrome name for that i'm sure, Stockholme or something.

I dunno, this whole war is peace love is hate thing is just too confusing for me. Excuse me while i go bury my head in the sand again.

Neurotic wife:))
first, i hope your husband comes back soon and things get better:)
second,i agree with you, isnt it just crazy?!
wel, i once thought of soemthing, please dont laugh, i thought that maybe some of those who are getting kidnapped, are like journalists who want to help, who oppose the war, so they kidnap themselves and demand that their goverments take their armies out, or let some "secret" group kidnaps them to do that, an arranged kidnapping, like the arranged mariages, it seems at least a reasonalbe theory to explain th ekissing thing, its like saying: mission done! see you later guys!
or probably its just because they live together for along time, eat together, talk, they kind of have a bond, you knwo that when you go through a tough time with someone it creats a bond, like when you hear "we are old friends, we served together in the army" or something like that, it seems that even iraqi criminals are nice!
the other possible explinations is what emigre mentioned, which is the case where the presinor gets attached to the person who is holding him, its a psychological thing.
i talk too much, its all your fault neurotic wife:)
guys, please send emails to emigre tell her to get out of the sand and come joins us again:*( i miss her, maybe if she gets enough emails she will know that we need her and come back:))

I am a Catholic and am charged with dressing modestly. I understand and admire hijab and honestly would wear a veil myself if it would be a part of my religion. I do NOT understand what France is up to by banning the hijab from the schools. It sounds to me like a play of power that springs from the anti-religious zeal of the French Revolution that has been dug up and reapplied hundreds of years later.
Totally STUPID if you ask me.

I disagree with you about France. France is a secular country and they want to keep the separation of church and state. The hijab is still a symbol as it symbolically represents Islam, and Islam is a religion.

In my view, There's no way to separate state from religion, nor science from society.
Even with the purpose of laic school, it's not fair or right what French government decided,

Khalid, the jewish hat is named kipa. ;)

That is a funny rumor. Let me see if I can generate one as well. I heard that Al Yawar has been having an affair with Anna Nicole Smith. But the CIA and the FBI were afraid that if American men found out that Ms. Smith was in love with an Iraqi that there would be riots in the streets. "Isn't it enough that these Iraqis have all our oil burried under their land now they want to steal our women as well" -- one FBI official said. A reliable source has confirmed that Al Yawar and Smith have been visiting each other on an isolated island in the Persian Gulf. Now if you thought that Bennifer was a media frenzy, just wait until the media gets hold of the Yawanna story.

the headscarf law is for muslim's own protection,

islam has a pretty bad reputation right now, especially after the russian school atrocity

these days muslims are hated pretty much everywhere, to protect the children from other children and from others , removal of the headscarf is necessary so they dont stick out of the crowd, so they wont get bullied or worse so easily
