الأديـــان مـن صـنـع الإنـسـان .. أثير العرا
Atheeriraqi has dedicated his blog to the promotion of atheism (in Arabic). What more is there to say? Well quite a lot actually. If you read Arabic or want to use Google's web page translator you can read his (very) detailed arguments. Atheer writes:
"The blog is about criticizing relegions, mostly Islam because I know more about it, but also something about christianity and judism, focusing on the conflict between science and the holy books, which proves definetly(from my point of view) that the religions are man-made not from the creator, the blog does not discuss about the existance of a God(although I am interested in) because I do not have yet a clear opinion about that, I think that the existance of a God is a very complicated issue."

Atheeriraqi, I am glad to see your blog. I am an American and will only go by John as my last name is extremely unique and I don't at this time wish to be a target for Christian criticism. I have often thought of doing my own anti religion blog.
I am not religious in any way. I have friends that were at one time very religious but have since changed their minds, and we have had deep conversations on the topic of religion. I don't want to go into a lot of detail as I would be writing for a long time. Basically my feeling on any religion is that you have to blindly believe what you are told either by other religious leaders or by the books (bible) that they interpret for you.
My view on the history of religion is that where ever there has been strong faith in religion there has been extreme suffering. There is no longer a peaceful religion in the world. If there were a peaceful religion it has long since been wipe out by another religion that is willing to commit atrocities in the name of another religion.
I am a man of science, if you can prove it I will believe it. So I suppose that I am an atheist. There is such an negative stigma that comes with it too, people think that you are the devil or something. Quite the opposite I say... I am very moral and true. I simply do not do things that you should not do. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out what is right and what is wrong in most situations. It makes me crazy seeing all the things that Christians will do then go to church on Sunday to be forgiven for all the crappy things they did all week. I see this time and time again in the media. I am not sure if you would see the same in your religion but it is something that attracts much media attention here wherever it is discovered.
The problem with most Christians is that they have not actually read the bible, if they had they'd be athiest's. If they have read it and still believe in it, they are sick and twisted people.
I read a quote once that went something like this...
"A person that lives by the Old Testament is a murderer, and a person that lives by the New Testament is insane."
Check out EvilBIble.com to see all the things that most Christians over look in the Christian bible.

John, Thanks for your nice comment
I agree with most of what you said.
I encourage you not to care about the Christian criticism and start your own blog criticizing Christianity, it is important as an American to do so, there are Christian fundamentalists in the US enough to make it worth replying to them, you know "The American Taliban".

The comment below was almost the same as the first comment, I just deleted some sentences which were not really correct:
Thank you Salam for being liberal..
I also want to thank all the contributors of Iraq Blog Count.
I hastened Salam to introduce my blog because I wanted to know whether it can be put at all within "Iraq Blog Count" as the URL's of blogs and webs which criticize Islam are normally deleted or neglected in arabic forums and webs and I am facing difficulties in making announcement for the blogs I made.
I am very interested that my voice reach Muslims generally and especially our people in Iraq.
A lot of people (especially Muslims) ask me, why do I criticize religions, they tell me that I should respect religions.
Although I do believe that having an opinion is enough to express it, I have to clarify why do I waste all this time to write, collect and make announcement to the blog which I have written, the two blogs which I have collected their articles, and soon the forth blog in english language, you can click here to see all my blogs criticizing religions (mainly islam and one of them in English.
My motives to do all of that are the following:
The first motive:
I live in Germany since more than three years, but what has happenned and is hapenning in Iraq is caused (to a large extent) by differences in creeds is really breaking my heart, and I do believe that I must do something to prevent that.
I think that spreading the arguments against Islam is useful, not necessarily to let Muslims abandon their religion, but at least to let them have some suspect in the existence of life after death, so the number of radical muslims who believe literally in Sunna and Quran will decrease.
The second motive:
The announced opinion of Many Muslim Sheiks that we "ex-muslims" should be killed because Muhammad has said "kill those who changed their religion" من بدل دينه فاقتلوه. (this no longer happen in any part of the world but in our countries), so, criticizing this religion is a kind of protecting the next generations and the people of the world from these extremist ideas..
how so?
if you believe (as I believed one day) that Quran and the Sunna(speech and practices of the prophet Mohammed as narrated) are literally from God, you have to follow them, a lot of these texts are against Human rights.
Secularism can never succeed among people who believe "strongly" in their religion, we must secularize our countries to adapt them to Human rights.
sentences like "islam calls for peace and love" and "islam is compatible with secularism" is no longer convincing for many people after spreading the books of Saudi arabia and Iran, that is, the end of the relatively liberal time in the Arab world (approximately 1850-1950).
Thank you
Atheeriraqi
