I felt compelled to post my thoughts here, thank you so much for letting me do so. I am an American mother. One day I woke up to 9/11. I began to look at the world around me. I shockingly found out I was very much hated, and didn't know why. I am a decendant of Polish immigrants, 2nd generation. My grandparents came to America for a better way of life, adapted and lived happily. I do continue to honor my Polish culture while still loving my country as well as loving my grandparents country. America is a land of immigrants and their decendents, that have come here to escape persecution and find freedom. I respect all cultures, all religions, all races and believe in living together in acceptance. I believe our differences are what makes this world so interesting. I believe in freedom of speech, freedom of activity and freedom of religion. I honor a persons right to free choice, without oppression. I want that for ALL people EVERYWHERE, designed in a fashion that is acceptable by its people of that country. I am not very political outside of my vote, I find that most politicians, most leaders, no matter the country, are normally corrupt with power and are self serving, and have designed agendas that they willingly push. Let me reinterate..ALL politicians in ALL countries. Does that make ME as an individual corrupt and power driven? No. Do I have alot of control over this? Only with my vote. And thats not always successful in terms of what I want, but I honor it, my vote. What I do have control over, is my family, my friends, my acquaintances, my free thought, my opinion and myself, and being a good person. I refuse to hate. People can hate me if they must whether it be justified or not, but I think finding solutions in a positive way, with communication, is a better way. Lets look beyond politics, and speak, mother to mother. What I want for Iraq and the Iraqi people, is freedom to live the way that makes them happy in a secure and safe environment, free of oppression. In whatever way that that is defined governmentally, by the people. I think most Americans feel the way I do. Thank you for allowing me to express myself. I will continue to hope for a better world for everyone.
