Blog suicide

This is how fed up I am with all the silly games bloggers play. I am " " this close to pulling the plug. Seriously. Only trouble is, if I go, so does everything else. Do you want this site or not? If anyone wants it, write me or whatever, I'll leave it up for you, then I'm pissing off.

Should I count to ten before posting this? Or just post and be damned.

.....................................

Emend; The blog stays then, thanks for writing. Apologies if anyone sincere was offended. Patience has a limit.

What is this Emigre? I'm not getting it!

I want this blog, it's the start of the Iraqi bloggers' tree.. Why do you want to do this?
If I have offended you in anyway, then I'm sorry.. But, you can't just go that way with no explanation.

emigre,

This blog is great because of the opportunity it provides us to hear the opinions of average Iraqi joes. The big media is ok, but far too general.

Just to hear the daily mundane items of the lives of the Najma clan, for example, is priceless.:) Each blogger appears to have his/her own unique style and appeal. Some stand out more than others. To that end I will say the Aunt Najma clan stands out, with Aunt Najma far ahead.:) Go Najma!

I have not posted before, but I had to now since it would be a shame to have this site close down. Please dont pull the plug, emigre.

It's all your fault, Najma. You are not an innocent, sweet, little Ann Frank type. So now, none of us give a shit anymore. It's called being disinterested in those who will not do anything positive for their own well-being without moaning about someone or blaming others. Booooooo

What is it that has angered you Em?

Good grief! I don't check out the blog for a while, and when I finally do, I find that some little twit with nothing better to do than start trouble, has has caused mayhem, yet again. I'm not even going to start on what I think the motives behind such bullshit would be, as I would probably start a flame war, and I don't have the time or the patience for assholes.

Hang in there, Em. I don't think any of us take the trolls too seriously. Perhaps they serve a purpose, possibly to remind the rest of us to be decent, and not sink to their level of depravity. Count to ten, take a breath and remember that most of us truly appreciate what you do.

Peace,
Fiona

this is just a lame attempt by emigre to cry like a child and seek attention. the fact is, nobody is reading this crap anymore because its not news. iraq isnt popular anymore. sure, maybe in 6 months when the next elections happen people will pay attention for a week or so, but emigre knows she is just waisting her time with this crap. nobody reads it, nobody posts comments....its useless. move on to something else, this boat has sunk.

Emigre.

You see, there's a pattern here.

Don't ever think you can talk with the right wing. The only skills they have are shouting and managing, and you can only lose by thinking of them as human.

The only thing you can do is talk back at them in public places such as these using plain old well constructed truthful statements. Being the truth haters they are, they will feel compelled to waste time frantically typing up cookie cutter rationalisations for why that your statements may be slightly wrong and that you are in fact the anti-euro-american satan himself.

Hang in there Emigre. To be loved by some is to be hated by others in this world.

I hope you keep the blog. Turn off the comments section if you have to, but realize that there are people of every country, every religion, every race - who insist on acting like immoral idiots. And they will never change. Just ignore them and speak to the middle, to those who are good and decent, who respect you and your opinions even if they disagree, no matter what.

We love Iraq Blog Count and want you to stay! --

I think you should shut down comments for a while.

hi emigre and others, please go on with this work! we need eachother. i am sure IBC has become an essential point of reference not only for me, but for a lot of people. let's try to keep on focussing on the ones that want to create connections, and not on the ones attempting to frustrate these.

i came back from helsinki yesterday, from the pixelache festival where we presented the streamtime project in the DOT ORG BOOM section. but ... www.streamtime.org was hacked again yesterday; it seems that more machines internationally are involved in doing this...
really: streamtime respects and needs you and the IBC for sure.
best, -c-

Speak to the middle, he says. Can't talk with the right wing, he says.

Thats the problem here, kiddo. She cannot speak to the middle and it seems quite clear that people like you do not see this. If the middle were being spoken to here, you would see a far more accepting response from both aisles... along with flak.

paco, you nor anyone else knows why emigre went crazy, so why blame it on right wing people? i think it is quite childish of her to say that if she goes, the whole site goes too. if she wants to go, fine, but let someone else run the blog. perhaps a new person would give a fresh take on things and not the same old hate this and hate that which emigre always seems to write. emigre and her ilk are so predictable.

#4/18/2005 06:02:00 pm Assalam Aleikom Anonymous Anonymous

Paco.

I'll assume you're talking to me because you seem to be vaguely addressing my comments and since there's nothing else to respond to.

If your comment was directed at me then it is a perfect demonstration of what I was originally saying.

First of all, "kiddo" was a good start. Try to characterise me as a child, but do it in such a way that it hides within another mis-characterisation that I'm trying to say that it's best to
talk "to" the middle rather than "at" the right.

Based on that assumption, you then follow up with "it seems quite clear" and "people like you" which pushes my "cookie cutter response" detector into the red "you're a right wing shill" zone
.

Your reference to "both aisles" confused me a bit. There are quite a few messages encoded in this. The idea that there is a "middle ground" and that we can "comprimise" as if we could comp
rimise with me drinking only half a cup of poisoned water.

"Both aisles" also invokes the thought that there are two sides to a symmetrical church which has walls that shelter the occupants from the chaotic storm that rages outside, which god someho
w let exist, giving the people inside a chance to stop dealing with societal constructs that they largely brought upon themselves.

Everybody not inside one of these symmetrical stone buildings protected by stained glass windows at the particular time that god decides to bring down the s to the shizzle hit upon the chaos
outside is apparently going to die.

Death is the best you got? I don't see a god of love letting the Hitlers of this world get away with just dying.

Furthermore, I don't see a god of love leaving the victims of the Hitlers of this world unatoned.

I didn't talk to "the middle" because there is no middle.

I didn't talk to "the left" because there is no left. The right thinks that there is a left because they like symmetry.

I didn't talk to "the right" because I have never seen one example of "the right" hearing anything anybody else has to say.

I talked _at_ the right because it seems to be a nice and not at all unproductive way to spend my time.

Peace. Even if it comes by way of inserting soapy razors into the eyeballs of Jeffery Schusters calves.

Eddy.

Anonymous.

It's funny that you responded less than 20 seconds before me.

Let's cut to the chase. If you're "playing the averages" by asking "someone else to take over", you basically trying to promote the rolling of the dice in which someone from the right wing might win, and in which Iraqi Bloggers "Central" may no longer have to compete with this blog.

Insert an 's' there somewhere. Sorry, I'm still getting used to a non-IRC environment.
