Everybody was raving about it. I myself didn't like it. Not my thing.
One of my good friends is reading it right now. He loves it and has urged me to read it when he's finished.
If you have a public library near you, there's no need to buy it. Read it and take it back. If you don't like it you don't have to finish it.

great book. i think angels and demons is even better.
banned in lebanon because of maronite priests in soidarity against the the vision of mary magdelene marrying jesus.
havn't read it myself...but i hear it's all the craze. yet that's probably why i haven't read it.
i really should tap intot he collective conscious every once and a while...harhar

If you look at the left sidebar of my template you see "choose skin" so you can change the skin and this is what I am doing.

I can go go to publi Library and borrow it in Dutch but I want to read it in English
:)...and how old are you now? If more than 10 years later, try them again from a new perspective. Read the Da Vinci Code also, even if only you are interested.

You can purchase and find info on it here.
Well, You need to have a REALLY open mind to finish through this book!
First: It's definitely enjoyable to a great extent although I don't like mystery novels, but when you read this one you kinda imagine a hollywood blockbuster movie starring michael douglas and milla jovovich..
Its about a famous professor who researches Iconology in religion, a hot french female cryptographer, a "hardcore" christian sect called Corpus Dei "Work of God" ,and a crime in the Louvre..
Inside you will find hints that Jesus Christ was married, he had a child, and that his wife (Mary Magdalene) carrying his child IS THE HOLY GRAIL.
I was half-way through and wondering how the writer will manage to stay alive with all the ULTRA right-wing christian movements in the world!
Good book but as i said, its to be taken with a VERY open mind..
all in all, it is what it is, A NOVEL, a work of FICTION,i don't see why all this fuss is going on, I don't remember the same fuss going around when Salman Rushdie's Satanic Verses came out, and that was a CRAPPY book, not even worth the time i wasted reading it.
salam to all, let us help each other keep the world an enlightened place.
13out.
Sorry guess i gave away the plot.. shit this is why i shouldnt review anything.
anyways, its nice, you should still check it out.
Sorry again for my stupidity.
13out.
lol, at least you didn't tell us how it ends.
Ok so I think I can wait till the English version is going to be available in Public library.
Speaking of Salman Rushdi I think two books are the best what he wrote
1.Haroun and the sea of stories.....I like this book for personal reason.
2.Shame....in my opinion is the best of Rushdi..
Any way Thanks all for the answers, I know now what's the book about.
ladyB,
I know I know...I just like to go to a new one practically each time. I don't ever change it myself.
anyyyyyyyyyyway...yeaaaa
Uhmm, I've read it and there's nothing too much outrageous in there. The few concepts are the base of every christian-conspiracy subculture: mary and jesus, the templars, rennes le chateau, etc.
As a mystery book I think is worth reading, it's well written and in the first half there are some nice mystery, then is quite obvious, but you will read it to the end without get bored.
If you want a more "serious" novel on the same christian-conspiracy meme I suggest Umberto Eco's Fucault's Pendulum (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0345368754/qid=1096474061/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/103-2084987-7899034?v=glance&s=books&n=507846).
And if you want the really outrageous then go for The Illuminatus! Trilogy (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0440539811/qid=1096474330/sr=ka-1/ref=pd_ka_1/103-2084987-7899034) which is by far less pretentious and much more fun.
my .02 euro
Thanks for the tips

SHOCK HORROR! READERS TAKEN IN BY PUBLISHING SCANDAL - NOW THEY'LL HAVE TO READ ANOTHER BOOK TO SEE IF THE CLAIMS ARE TRUE! Da Vinci code plagiarized, authors claim - legal action after new best-seller 'stole' structure of earlier work Never mind, everyone got excited for a while and thought they'd stumbled upon something 'new' and 'original' and it passes the time, eh?
